Sell to Excel: Just like Steve!

As an entrepreneur, you may be feeling quite confident that you are the captain of your ship or the pilot of a business enterprise whose mission it is to succeed. As we all know, success in business is not an easy mission to achieve.  Ask any CEO, Warren Buffet, Bill Gates, Michael Dell, or Steve Jobs and they will tell you that one of the key factors in achieving business sales success with products and/or services is the ability to present ideas and concepts in a way that induces, influences, or convinces people to purchase.

Keen business presentation skills are always the order of the day — whether you are reporting to your stakeholders, bidding for contractual work, motivating your sales team, presenting ideas for venture capital, or merely convincing family members.

However you want to label it – a sales pitch or a sales presentation – your desire or passion needs to come front-and-center to assure everyone that your idea/concept and/or your product/service is amazing, and that it can be mutually profitable for all parties concerned. It is not uncommon for novice entrepreneurs to feel thwarted by the mere thought of presenting ideas in a sales pitch/sales presentation format.  However, if you do not have the courage to convey your belief and enthusiasm in the value of your idea, product, or service then no one else will have zeal to buy into it!  As an entrepreneurial sales presenter, you must be inspiring and a true aspiration for everyone around you.

What an example we have of an inspiring individual than that of Steve Jobs! If you ever were lucky enough to have witnessed any of his famous presentations, you would recognize his keen presentation skills.  Wouldn’t you think that in a multi-billion dollar empire, Jobs could and would have hired the most profound and sought-after sales presenters?  We all know that Jobs could afford to hire almost anyone with the most ardent set of presentation skills on the planet.  And yet, he didn’t…  He chose to act as his own presenter.  Jobs’ mere presence for that presentation, which introduced the audience to the iPhone, added importance, charm, and charisma and created a desire in the market to be first-in-line to purchase this amazing new product from Apple!

All those who were present during that iPhone launch, or who viewed it multiple times on You-Tube, subconsciously made the connection – Jobs, who has proven to be a successful visionary, was demonstrating and conveying his excitement and his confidence in the introduction of his new product. The audience was mesmerized by Jobs and convinced that his product was unique, stylish, and futuristic!  Jobs’ presentation skills once again worked.

So what is that unique energy in Job’s words which even stakeholders of Apple don’t accept from anyone else but him? An interesting anecdote may answer this question for you.  In 2009, when Jobs had taken ill, Apple’s share value tumbled since investors feared that Jobs’ deteriorating health issue would be the undoing of Apple.  Later, it was confirmed that Jobs had undergone a successful liver transplant, and that he would, in fact, be able to return work.  Investors concerns were curbed.  Such is the effects of Steve Jobs’ sales presence!

Carmine Gallo, the author of the book, The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs, describes Steve Jobs as, “the most captivating communicator on the world stage.” Carmine continues to say, “Jobs is a magnetic pitchman who sells his ideas with a flair that turns prospects into customers and customers into evangelists.”

Consider The Presentation Secrets of Steve Jobs your blueprint to presentation success. What better mentor could have then Steve Jobs showing you how to present the value behind your product/service, company, or cause?  Whether you are an entrepreneur launching a new product, pitching investors for money, or closing a deal with new customer, Steve Jobs has something to teach you.  This amazing and insightful book is now available here at the Training for Entrepreneurs.com Bookshelf.

Now sit back and watch Carmine Gallo walk you through several key techniques that Steve Jobs uses to electrify his audience. There are elements that you can adopt into your next presentation.
